How It Works

Everything we do is centered first and foremost around providing you with a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable patient experience from start to finish that meets your unique goals. Coming in for a consultation or procedure can take some courage and it is important for you to feel relaxed with our friendly and experienced staff in our state-of-the-art facility. Life is too short, so it's important to look and feel your best and live that lavish life you deserve!
At your consultation, we review your medical history, and conduct a physical examination and take photographs. We then discuss a proposed surgical plan and go over all of the details of the procedure, risks, and benefits. Come prepared with a list of your medications, previous surgeries, and any other important details (eg: implant cards if applicable). Your appointment may last 30-60 minutes.
Surgery will take place at one of our Lakeridge Health Hospital sites or our state-of-the-art private surgical facility. We will provide you with all of the important pre-operative information for your surgery date, and all post-operative instructions and follow-up appointment details.

Your Visit With Us

At your consultation, we review your medical history, and conduct a physical examination and take photographs. Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I know what procedure is right for me?
    It can be challenging to determine what treatment option is the right fit for you, and depends on several factors. When you meet with Dr. Sharma he will listen to your concerns and will come up with an individualized surgical plan to address your needs
  • How long does it take to recover from surgery?
    This largely depends on which procedure(s) you are having done. In general, skin incisions take about 2 weeks to heal up, and by 4 weeks out from surgery most people are considered fully healed. Often it takes about 6 weeks to be able to resume more vigorous activity such as going to the gym and heavier lifting. Final shape and results with all residual swelling gone takes about 3 months to achieve.
  • Do I need a referral to see Dr. Sharma?
    For OHIP-covered surgeries, a referral from another physician is required in order to schedule your consultation. Consultations for uninsured surgeries do not require a referral and we would be happy to schedule these by directly contacting our office.
  • Where does surgery take place?
    Surgeries under general anesthetic are done at our state-of-the-art private surgical suite, or at the Ajax-Pickering Hospital or Bowmanville Hospital. Minor surgery procedures done under local anesthetic are either done at our office or in the Ambulatory Care Unit at the Ajax-Pickering Hospital.
